Castle Vale tackles redevelopment of Birmingham's largest post war housing estate, and was praised for its achievement and organisational competence in reversing nearly 30 years of physical, social and economic decline. The HAT has successfully replaced 25 tower blocks with 750 low rise houses and flats as well as refurbishing 900 homes.
